Drum inspection and cable replacement
From there we pull the old cable off the drum and track, check the drum grooves and the bottom fixture brackets for wear or rust damage from the same freeze-thaw cycling that took out the cable, and run new galvanized cable sized to the door. On a lot of the 1980s and 90s builds common across this area, the bottom brackets have taken enough corrosion over the decades that they need to come off with the cable rather than get reused.
